Looking for help on SBS 2008 (and Windows Server 2008/Exchange 2007 in general! :))
Hi all,
I don't have a specific question on this right now, but as I'm looking to get more involved with the above, I would appreciate any recommendations on learning resources (books, sites and any other guides) that you might consider useful to someone who is, essentially, a complete novice at the server side of things :(.
Thanks very much for your time,
Best Regards

I would recommend this book for starters... http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en...4&locale=en-us although the best thing to do is look at Amazon Books or pop along to your nearest bookshop.

Well you don't mention if you've actually got the software, so nab it here:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/e.../cc184870.aspx
A very good site for all things SBS (even if it is very American focussed) is http://www.smallbizserver.net. The two main (only?) SBS MVPs run it, so you find what you need there :)

another vote for technet - there is a massive ammount of resource available , though it might take a bit of hunting at times :)
what in particular are you looking for ?
its been a while since I've played with SBS , there are a few subtle differences between regular windows/exchange installs which can make life a lot easier - there are plenty of hexites who do know more about SBS than I do though - so if you get stuck , just ask and I'm sure someone will be able to point you in the right direction ! If you ever look to the larger scale of things then I'd be happy to help ( am currently helping spec an exchage migration for 10,000 users :) )

As already mentioned, what area's of SBS do you want to know about, there are plenty of good resources, Technet and several books on Amazon. SBS 2008 is a different beast to SBS 2003, however I welcome the changes and my clients love the new functionality
If you have a problem, post it and im sure someone around here can help you

I found that just installing up Sever 2008 on a test machine, or in a VM, and then messing around with it for a couple of days taught me quiet a lot.
Just tried to do various things, and read guides for the things I couldn't figure out. I found most of the menu systems very logical. Haven't really messed with Exchange tho. So that mite be harder to just pickup by trial/error.

For things SBS
try www.sbsdiva.com - Susan Bradley is an SBS MVP
Or in the UK Dave Overton - www.uksbsguy.com - Microsoft Employee that can advise a lt on SBS - Dave's got a book on SBS - links on his website.
Or there is Harry Brelsford - www.smbnation.com - he's got an SBS book I think
Or if you are after some techy help with SBS there are a good few SBS related Yahoo groups that can help too!
