Hey hexus folk, as the title implies I fail at anything more then basic It knowledge,

My question is this, in a weeks time new pc will be arriving and im using this one currently with vista installed, when i get the new (itl have its own hd with its own os installed) computer can I simply pop my current hard drive in or will 2 operating systems on different drives mess it up or something,

Thanks if you can understand what im asking!

Operating systems from Windows are configured to the hardware they are installed upon, so any changes made the OS will notice, that is to say that if the new pc has all the same component parts of your old pc then it will not be a problem, but i suspect that your new pc will be an upgrade and so attempting to use your old hdd to boot the new pc will undoubtably cause you problems.

You can however use your existing hdd as a secondary drive in your new pc and copy across any files\photos\videos to your new hdd.

Yes you can use it with the new drive, in the BIOS make sure you boot from the new drive.
