    Windows live messenger problems

Has anyone else had problems with wlm today???

Earlier today a contact signed in but I heard no sound (my speakers were too low) But I signed out and tried to sign back in. For some reason it said there was a problem with my connection, but browsing was working fine (got back on after 30min) But now my contacs say i'm appearing offline even though it tells me i'm online.

I have tried wlm on another laptop and same result!!

So anyone else had this problem today or recently???

edit: My mum is on msn downstairs as is online but on her contacts i'm offline, and on mine she is online. What is going on ???

Could it have anything to do with the new upgrades for msn?

Make sure you aren't signing in as "Appear Offline".

    Re: Windows live messenger problems

To be honest Windows Lives Messenger is a horribly written bit of software, if all my contacts would wise up and use a different client like Podgin (formally GAIM) then I could ditch it.

    Re: Windows live messenger problems

Quite often when i try to sign in, if i leave it, it just won't connect. If i close the application and run it again it connects right away, i put it down to a problem with Live Messenger and ignore it.
