No sound From Speakers

Hello everyone,
I am using Logitech x230 speakers with my computer on XP but for some reason, the audio won't work. I am using a GA-MA770-UD3 motherboard. I have downloaded both the audio drivers listed on the website, but they don't install like normal drivers and the installation file is a MS-DOS batch file. Is this the correct thing to do or are there other things I might have overlooked while getting my speakers to work?

I have the motherboard but I just installed the drivers on the disk which came with it and it all worked fine. do you have the hd audio programme? It might be trying to use the coax/optical instead of analogue

The download on that site is an EXE, not a batch file?

It just looks like the standard realtek installer to me...

Yeah but the exe is a self extracting file which in turn ends up having a batch install file.

I've just downloaded it, and after extracting the files it gives you a setup.exe within the extracted files...

And then the setup.exe does exactly what it's name suggests, as i now have the realtekHD drivers installed

It's the top driver you're after (also check you do have revision 2.0 of the board and not 1.0 as there might be a slight difference in drivers for the sound card though they do look the same to me) and there are no batch files when extracted - just run setup.
If indeed you have got the drivers installed correctly, some people have reported issues with the realtek chip in that board.

Have you checked in device manager for any warnings? You can also re-install the driver from there & point it to the correct version.
