Hexus....avatar...why cant I have one?

I have read the FAQ's and it simply says "Go to the Edit your Avatar page".

When I go there, I cant change anything..... its all fixed and not changeable.

Does hexus not love me?

There are a number of features and facilities that become available when a registered member reaches a certain qualification, usually in terms of length of postcount, membership, or both. Some of these are designed merely to be a minor reward for activity on the board, but others are to prevent abuses by new members, and especially spammers. For example, brand new members can't use the PM (Personal Message) facility, because we had a number of cases where it was being abused by PM Spamming.

Some postcount rewards include :-

5 posts – can post hyperlinks

15 posts – can use PM's (Personal Message system) and edit profile fields, etc

20 posts - Scan2HEXUS free shipping

25 posts - thanks user

100 - access to the Shopping and retail therapy forum

200 – access to Gallery to submit images

200 – custom user title - alter comment under username

500 - custom avatar

Because it was a specific suggestion to read the links (like the one in my sig) rather than assuming they would read a FAQ on signing up. No one does that.

I meant just having the links in your sig feels like a lost cause, ofcourse they would read it if they are told to now.

Well the reason I have it in my sig is so I can post and just say "see my sig" rather than having to find the thread and copy the link in every time

well, as i welcome pretty much every single person in the welcome section, it's easier having the links in my sig then hunting around for them. so the newbies are presented with all the required information they need, plus a few other bits to get them started and show what hexus has to offer.

i'm just trying to be helpful


i do uncheck the show sig button while in other sections, my signature just gets in the way in them.



i could just say that you 'might' be upping your post count to get an avatar, but i wont
