    Recovering Outlook Express Contacts

My mum's PC broke a few weeks ago and she now has a new one up and running. However, it has proved impossible to get the Outlook Express contacts from the HDD. There are some .dbx files on the old hard drive, named contacts and inbox etc and the inbox one seems to have restored fine but the contacts one doesn't seem to do anything. Does anyone know how to restore them because there are some fairly important contacts in there that my mum needs?

If you have the contacts file you could try opening it in Notepad and copy them over manually.

A .dbx file? There was a .WAB file as well somewhere but it appeared to be empty.

Yeah, you can open pretty much anything in Notepad but not everything's human-readable. I'm not entirely familiar with Outlook Express though because I use Thunderbird myself.
