3 montiors on 1graphics card(2 dvi), extended display

    Hi Guys,

I have a 8800GT and i have two 22" LCD monitos with a dual screen setup. The each have a DVI port so now my graphics card is full. I have recently brought a lg 32" TV and would like to also hook it up to my system but the problem is my DVI ports are full and I don't want a mirror display. Is there a way I can have 3 extended displays on my graphics card with 2 DVI ports?

    cheers guys

Add another graphics card. Even a cheap one will do for 2d/video.

I also recommend a second graphics card, but if that's not possible these may come in handy:

Matrox Dual Head 2Go Digital Edition

    or

    Matrox TripleHead2Go Digital Edition

EDIT: Also, USB to DVI adaptors

i have a 8800gt and my motherboard doesnt support sli how much do you guys reacon this will cost me for a new motherboard (socket 775) that supports sli and a 880gt. Also does it have to be exactly the same 8800gt.

My other option is to get a Asus eebox or Packard
Bell imax. those mini pc's , something low powered that i can use for downloading and outputting hd video onto my 32" I think that getting a little pc separate would be a better idea. My pc is outdated and i dont want to spend money on to it until i go back to uni.

You don't need SLI for a second graphics card, as long as you have a spare expansion slot, be it PCI-E or PCI you can shove pretty much any graphics card in. Infact, using SLI means you can't use any more than one monitor!

Not a bad idea, I saw the Black ASRock ION system for £240 on overclockers.co.uk yesterday.

Just checked, it's still in effect: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...d=1446&subcat=

I thought you could have 4 monitors on 1 card with the use of dvi splitters?

well what im after is a really low powered system I can use for downloading all the time and wont cost me a bomb running it. I want to be able to output 1080p video to my 32" lg tv so I could do with a hdmi port on the motherboard. I need a wireless lan coz I really cant be assed to install another Ethernet cable. The system needs to have about 160gb+ storage space. It also needs to be housed in a farely small case i can slide under my bed. I have around £300-£350 budget what do you guys suggest ?

Buy a DVD player with HDMI output and DivX or similar support. Stick films on a USB stick, play from that. It'll be far quieter and less power hungry than any PC solution you care to mention - the DSPs in the player will do all the work.

Just make sure the player supports all the standards you want.

I already have a home theatre computer, from the days in which DVD players couldn't scale the output. Nowadays I don't think I'd bother. Generally the players Just Work, and computers require maintenance.
