WiFi card causing lockups?

I recently added a PCI wireless card to my computer, an Edimax EW-7128G.

Although the card works well, my PC now locks up apparently at random (screen freezes, mouse and keyboard have no effect), usually within 5 minutes of booting. I am running Vista x64 on a Gigabyte P31-DS3L and I also have a PCI-E gfx card and a PCI X-Fi sound card.

Moving the WiFi card to the other free PCI slot didn't make any difference, any ideas on how to fix this?

I had this same problem on an old motherboard (asrock via chipset), it was an incompatibility between the wireless card and the motherboard rather than a faulty wireless card as I am now using the card again on a new motherboard and it is fine.

might be worth trying a USB wifi adapter? I;ve had tv cards do similar things before due to different chipset and pci revisions.
or get another pci card with a different chip set.
