Harddrive- copyingdata across from old one

    Hi

Can anyone recommend a faster way to copy data from disk to disk. currently using norton ghost v12 which has a tool to copy from disk to disk, uts on 7% atm after 15mins copying 1tb (spinpoint f1) hard drive to another 1tb (spinpoint f3). I'm rather impatient when it comes loading bars ,I have a couple more f3's that need data copying on to. Damn norton hasnt even showned the estimated remaining time yet.

hmm norton showing 2hrs remaining. the disk Im copying across is pretty full about 800GB+ would rich copy improve copying speed? or am i better looking for disk cloning tools? Prolly give rich copy ago on the other hard drive once nortons finished with this one.

    Samsung Spinpoint F1 average read = ~90mb/s
    from here

    (0.07*800)/15/60*1024 = 63.72 mb/s
You're only going to be able to get any program to be able to do it at most ~1/3 faster, provided it is Ghost that is doing things inefficiently..

I'd be interested to know if you do get faster speeds with another program.
