    Re: No Signal Input

So if the old system beeped, where's the speaker ? On the board or on the case ?

    Re: No Signal Input

    Right.
You need to either identify where that beep is coming from. Or buy a new speaker from Maplins.
Then connect it to the system that doesn't work and see what happens when you turn it on. It should provide a series of beeps which the manual will translate into an error message such as RAM failure, HDD not found, GPU dead, ODD upside down, dead rat in case etc.

    Re: No Signal Input

I think the beep is coming from the motherboard so i will need to buy one for the other motherboard. What should i search on the Maplins website to find what i need? and is there anything i need to know about compatibility?

    Re: No Signal Input

No compatibility issues. They're all much the same.
Google around or call Scan. They'll be able to help you. But you will need an error code when everything else works...

should say on the ram, have you a model number for the ram?

the motherboard and cpu that don't work, are these new items or used? just asking as you say these are compatible with each other, and you say the gpu is working in the other system which leads me to the RAM, i'm thinking the RAM might not be compatible with the motherboard.

maybe if you can borrow some RAM off someone and see if it works.

what wattage and make/model is the Power Supply?

maybe there isn't enough power from the psu for the complete system

just realised the ram you have is 800mhz (the number you gave x 4)

so if the ram is working in the other system then its not the RAM

    Re: No Signal Input

I dont know the make and model of my power supply it doesnt say. I bought it at a local comp shop just to replace my old one that had broken. I was told that its 500W. As for my RAM i've found out its "Corsair DDR2 4300 (533MHz)".

About the motherboard speaker, the new motherboard does have one i was reading in the manual. Its a 4 pin built onto the motherboard. Is something supposed to be on these pins? Also, there are 3 pins next to it and 2 of them are covered by a plastic cover thing.

ok, if the ram runs at 533mhz then i would think its your ram that is at fault, as your motherboard supports 667mhz minimum, click on below, scroll down and click on technical specs:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/Asus-...TA-II-uATX-VGA

like i said if you could get compatible RAM from someone and test if this is the case

also do you have a connection from your psu going to your GPU, as the 8800 requires its own 6 pin cable i think
