Help!

Hi everyone.. im really angry cause i made a new computer a few days ago... however there are 2 problems. The first one is that when i start up.. the computer loads and then instead of showing me windows xp it lists my computer parts and their specifications. The second thing is that on start up i receive lines going across my monitor and 3 columns of white lines going upwards. Sometimes i dont have either problems after rebooting a few times but now i can solve this.. Could somebody please help?

This is normal. It is the BIOS POSTing. Do you still get into your installed operating system?

Ok i solved the first problem of viewing the computers statistics but now whenever i start the computer i recieve 3 columns of white lines on my monitor and several white lines going across. I can access my OS but when i do i receive a BSOD. Now i have no idea what to do.. i re-inserted the GPU which helped for a bit.. but then i rebooted and it f'ed up again. So then i re-inserted the GPU again and its not helping. I must find a way to make this work cause my dad will go ape if it doesnt. Lol.

Dont worry i solved it by uninstalling the VGA drivers and re-inserting the Graphics Card... and reconnecting the PSU to the graphics card.. Lol i just solved 3 problems on my computer.. Thanks for your help anyway.. atleast i learnt something from your first post.

Yeah, most branded PCs removing the posting information cause it can be a bit confusing. If this is your first build I can understand why it might have freaked you out.

Well the problem has come back. And its happening at the startup screen and during the OS. I cant even change the screen resolution anymore... Its just un-allowing me to do anything. Could someone please help?

Can you post some photos of the symptoms and any error messages.
What is the spec of the machine ? What OS ?

That does look like a dead video card. Can you swap in another one ?

Well i dont have any other video cards.. but i don't understand how this one can be dead if i just bought it... :\ haha i guess my dad will just have to kill me
