    Windows 7 will not load

My computer for no apparent reason has decided it no longer wants to start. It gets to the stage where it shows the motherboard picture (saying press del to enter set up etc) then goes blank apart from a flashing underscore in the top left hand corner. Its like the old dos style writing cursor thing. I have left it for over 10 mins and still wont load.

    Any advice?

Maybe a problem with your motherboard if it didn't even begin to load Windows?

maybe its this Black screen of death that's all the rage recently ?

CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."

for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

be best if you posted more details of your comp. i remember some boards do that when its too cold. i know how it sounds but my abit board used to be like that during cold winters. It had to warm up before it was willing to boot up

Nah, that's supposedly a GUI thing - this computer hasn't even started loading off the hard drive.

I'd go down the motherboard, BIOS or hard drive path personally. I also wouldn't be turning it off in a hurry.

Loose hard drive connector? Sata is notorious for working loose.

Re: Windows 7 will not load

Indeed if it is not even getting to the loading OS stage then it's more likely something to do with hardware than specifically Windows 7.

Could be anything. My money is on a dodgy connection on the motherboard (re-seat the memory/hard disc cables etc), or even a failing PSU which isn't supplying enough juice to all the components until it's been on for a while and warmed up a bit.

I would try re-seating the ram first. Do them one at a time so you know what it was
    when you cure it.
