I just bought a N4100PRO and was wondering if it was possible to upgrade the RAM from 256MB to ??? If so, what is the maximum RAM supported? Any suggestions as to what type of RAM to buy? Thanks in advance.

N4100PRO as in the NAS system?
From here you can see it uses SODIMM connections. Taking the module out should reveal whether it's DDR or DDR2 memory (I suspect DDR, to save cost, as it doesn't need to be high performance for the work a NAS does).
You might get lucky and the motherboard might have a label with the maximum memory accepted, although given it looks like a custom motherboard for this unit I doubt it.
TBH, I don't really see what benefit additional RAM would have anyway, as the NAS will mainly transfer data between its disk controller and its network interface anyway, so all that will likely be in RAM is the OS and possibly caching of files...
Edit: if you can find out the CPU and northbridge that the board uses then you should be able to find out the max memory it supports.
This is what I needed to know. No real reason to upgrade the RAM. Thanks for the help.
