error at boot. amd data change update new data to DMI!
Hello I have just finished building my new computer
specs are: AMD phenom x2 555
gigabyte GByte GA-MA785GMT-UD2H
4gb ddr3 kingston valueram 1333mhz
500gb samsung f3
I havent even got around to loading windows onto it yet. It posts fine, gets to verifying dmi pool and then i get hit with AMD DATA change.... Update new data to DMI!
Strange thing is its only just happened, had it POST several times before this and it was super. Tried clearing the CMOS, loading optimised defaults but still nothing. any ideas?

Think you just need to be patient. If the BIOS detects changes in SATA devices it updates it's data - doesn't take too long.

have you flashed to the latest BIOS? Daft Q does your current BIOS support the 555?

I have a very similar setup to yours Will Smith and also have that message appear. Then again, I also have ram problems at the moment..

Been looking through the gigabyte forum...It appears that if everything loads ok, then the message is only an annoyance..

Hi All
I confirmed it with our HQ, there is nothing to worry about. The explanation is as follows:
The message means that data of the memory registry of K8 processor has been updated to DMI when the system is turned on. Those data are aimed to be written back to processor when PC wakes up from sleep mode of S3(STR).
Anyway a special bios will be made soon without this message (as it maybe confusing)
