    F-in windows 7!!!!!

right ok honestly im getting MEGA piss'd with this sh1t......ive lost count now about how many times ive had to reinstall windows 7!! what the hell is wrong here!

and before anybody asks, i have a legit copy of windows 7 and since reinstalling windows not a thing has been downloaded. a few people instantly thought i was downloading warez well im not and im getting fed up with the crap now this is my gaming pc, i had to reinstall windows due to sum stupid crap with it not being able to process a bludy picture and now it cannot reconize usb! what do i have to do? restart...stupid machine! and to top this of, every time i shut down i get the message that says about "forcing some programs to close" there is only one problem......there is no program open! to check this i restarted and then shut down and low and behold it pops up....come on so has anyone got any idea? i had pretty much NO PROBLEMS with windows vista, so how with a "much more stable" windows 7 am i having problems??

Did you format the drive before re-installation ? Just a thought.
Otherwise your HDD could be on the way out.
    Society's to blame,
    Or possibly Atari.

    Re: F-in windows 7!!!!!

It could be a million and 1 things really.

Have you ran memtest to ensure the memory is okay?

Are you overclocking the CPU ? if you are have you tried it at stock speeds?

Is the SATA cable okay and connected fine? (I've had an issue myself like this that was down to a dodgy SATA cable. I replaced the cable and all the issues I had went away.)

Have you access to another installation media of windows 7 that you can retry installing from using your key?

Also, have you added something to the system which wasn't present when using vista?

As you can see, it is a minefield of a problem which needs a logical stepping look at to see where the issues are coming from. I find that windows 7 is more stable than windows vista on my hodge-podge of a rig at home and everything works including the networking which has been overhauled

    Re: F-in windows 7!!!!!

ok ive changed the sata cable and reinstalled 7 again, will have to see if that helps! i pulled the rig down and pluged everything back in firmly just to make sure there is no cables loose, so we can also rule that out, there is nothing new in the system, was the same one i had windows vista on. unless you want to include a few games i have installed....there different

ive ran memtest no end of times and its a pass every time

the cpu is not being overclocked

the motherboard is a msi board for core i5's i cannot remember its exact name lol

The forcing programs to shut down thing is normal (unless it stays there for more than a couple of seconds)

    +1

have you installed the motherboard chipset drivers, from either the disc that came with it or new ones from MSI?

you also need to install directx from http://www.microsoft.com/games/en-US...s/directx.aspx.

This often happens on W7. Does not suggest anything is wrong. On many occasions, when shutting down, i get the force programs screen come up with nothing listed. After 5-10 seconds it closes and shuts down.

Perhaps it's just a sequence associated to specific services in the shutdown procedure. Or perhaps the processes/services are identified as requiring a force-termination but end by the time the screen is displayed. Then when it refreshes the associated processes and notices they no longer exist, it initiates shutdown.
