Biostar TPower I45 8GB 1066 RAM and Overclock

    Hello everyone!

Just (what I hope is) a quick question which I need some advice on.

I have overclocked my system using the Hexus guide titled "Intel Q9550 Core 2 Quad basic overclocking guide Published in association with HEXUS.net" - I can't post the link to it!

The system works fine with 2 X 2GB Corsair Dominator 1066 RAM installed with the adjusted timings and voltages mentioned in the guide. However, I have recently upgraded by installing a futher 2 X 2GB of the same RAM in my box to make it 8GB. My computer (or possibly Windows 7 x64) isn't very happy with this and I get random blue screens, take either pair of the RAM out and everything is fine again. Looking at the Biostar website the mobo should be able to support 8GB of 1066 but I was wondering if there would be any modifications (possibly voltage wise?) to allow the 8GB option to be more stable?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Cheers.

    Dan

Increase the MCH voltage by one notch in the BIOS, it might be 0.1v or +1 depending on the BIOS.

    Hi mrt9888,

I have a setting in the bios for the "MCH GTL Ref Voltage" is this the same thing?

Ill give it a go and report back with my findings!

    Cheers

Looking at the available settings for the MCH, I have the following:

    MCH GTL Ref Voltage: Auto (Default) / 0.61*VTT / 0.64*VTT / 0.59*VTT / 0.56*VTT

Is there any particular voltage I should use?

    Regards

    Daniel

Wondered if anyone else ever had this issue?

This is still ongoing for me

    Cheers
