    Replacing Pins (S775)

Thanks to my grandad who dropped his Scythe heatsink while i was cleaning it I need to change a couple of the pins on it - I have an old intel stock cooler - Anyone know a safe way to swap these out?

    Many Thanks

I dont know how to undo stock pushpins, its obviously possible. I believe you can buy them on ebay, ones that click together.

You just turn them and pull up, look at the groove on the white plastic. I did this for my Xigmatec and it worked.

The black part is removed from the white part and then you put it on the other heatsink.

They're really easy to pop apart, just have a look at one and it should become apparent what you need to do .

    Re: Replacing Pins (S775)

I tried but I couldnt pop the black and white part apart without damaging the pin in the process - no matter now I just threw on an intel stock cooler and ill buy some spare pins sometime when I feel like it .

    Re: Replacing Pins (S775)

I'd still try emailing scythe if i were you cuz they are sometimes quite nice. I lost a back plate i/o shield for my mobo and they asked me to send a stamped envelope for a free replacement. granted its not scythe but no harm to try.
