internal hard drive as External Hard drive

Hi All,

Im having some issues and hoped someone might be able to help me out. I have a Seagate Barracuda 80Gig hard drive which I previously had in my desktop. I upgraded to a 150Gig Hard drive and decided to buy an external hard drive enclosure. My Pc now wont recognise the drive though. Device manager shows it as a 'Generic USB Disk USB Device' I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling drivers, formatting the drive and trying to access on another PC but nothing seems to work. I know the drive is ok as I reconnected it via SATA to my PC before I formatted it and it still worked fine.

Model and make of your enclosure?

Have you gone into administration tools > computer management > storage > disk management

Might be worth seeing if Windows is seeing the drive there, it might need initialising again. If that doesn't work I suspect it might be a faulty enclosure.
