    Which cpu cooler for 1055T

Hi i am looking for a EASY to fit cooler for a new build consisting of 1055T cpu, asus m489ggtd pro mobo and its in a lancool k62 case. I understand that some are hard to fit and there may be a problem with case size. All this is new to me as ive never put anything other than stock collers before. I was looking at the CM 212 (very cheap) But alsoMany thanks. understand there is a hyper plus version. Is this the one with 2 fans. If so would i need a more powerfull psu? At the moment i only have a 550 Hiper modular, and dont fancy spending much more £. Many thanks.

Re: Which cpu cooler for 1055T

No, hyper 212 plus has only 1 fan. Even if it had 2, a fan only needs a couple of watts if that.
Depends on your budget, in terms of easy to fit and high performing there's the xigmatek HDT-S1283 if you can get one as they only use a retenton clip rather than a backplate.

Otherwise if it's going onto a build that's not completed yet then I would say get a titan fenrir as it's just so high performing. Can't quite remember if it needs a backplate.

Re: Which cpu cooler for 1055T

Wow thanks for fast reply. PC is not yet built. I dont understand about backplate but suspect this is harder to fit. Id much rather go with ease of fitting. Just seen the xigmatek HDT-S1283 and this looks great and its fairly cheap. I will have a look at the titan fenrir and see how easy it is. Thanks again

Wow that Titan has a Ltd Edition version and it looks Awesome. Would go a treat with my Red/black k62 case...But is it worth the extra £/

titan is a fantastic cooler and not too hard to fit I think. Backplate means you have to install a piece of plastic to the rear of the mobo directly behind the CPU. This is fine if you have a hole in your motherboard tray or if the motherboard isn't in the case yet but it's a pain otherwise. I would go for the fenrir personally as it's better cooling and it would indeed look great in that case

Re: Which cpu cooler for 1055T

Sheet i was going to buy it but then saw these comments on fitment which put me off....I am really clumsy with hands like a bunch of bananna's
You know what i may just go with the CM 212 as its cheap and its meant to be a good cooler. Also ive seen one very cheap on ebay for only £13 new Would you know what the difference is with the newer plus version compared to the old hyper 212? Thanks again dude

Get the plus version, it's got a better fan and more fins or something. Quieter certainly.

Re: Which cpu cooler for 1055T

Well never ever trust the noise ratings. Plus version comes with a better fan AFAIK, ask Pob255, he has the plus version and knows more about it.
really though, it's not that hard to install a cooler, I would recommend getting the titan fenrir. It wouldn't be so popular if it was that hard would it?

Re: Which cpu cooler for 1055T

Update on the Hyper 212 plus i purchased. This cooler is very quiet and idle temps on my AMD x6 1055T are at only 28c, with highest temp @ only 38c after 4hrs of running everest system stability test. But when it came to fitment it really was a Bstard, and that was with mobo out on a table! If you do happen to buy this item ps note when you have put the paste on cpu and your about to tighten it up, make sure you get someone to hold it still and keep it flat on the cpu because it moves everywhere and if it happens to lift up you will not get the best of contact. Also when you tighten the bolts do it in a 1-3-2-4 configuration and do not worry about it being loose (side to side movement) as it will still do its job. I had to put my cooler with fan facing upwards as it was a very tight fit on my Asus M4A89GTD mobo, but as my K62 case has 2 top fans its working fine. This was the first cooler i have ever fitted and i find it quite hard.
