    Cheetah 15K.5 data recovery

    I been given a dead Cheetah 15K.5 that needs data recovery
    can any one recomend a company that does this any any idea of turn arround ?

    There was someone posting on here - abcd datarecovery or somthing like that. Not used them myself, but seemed genuine.

    Ontrack (used to be Voga) has also been cited.

    There are a LOT of dubious data recovery companies out there - so be VERY careful before you commit. Do a search on the HEXUS forums using data recovery as the search terms.

    In my work we had 2 disks fail on a 1TB RAID 5 and used OnTrack.

    They managed to get everything back no problem. The turnaround depends on the price you want to pay. I think it was around £2400 for a 5-7 business day.

    would cost less to have another raid5 array as secondary backup!

    Just an update on this
    Sent drive to OnTrack
    drive had severe physical media damage ( heads come into physical contact with the media )
    all data lost
    paid the fee for diagnosis and lost the warrenty

    Looking on the bright side im glad it wasnt my PC lol
