    Memory module question

    I have a new Shuttle SG41J1. The manufacturer specifies DDR2 memory modules (2 x 240 pin DDR2 DIMM slots, 4GB per DIMM (Max 8GB) Dual Channel DDR2 667/800)

I bought a Crucial 4GB 240 pin DIMM 512MX64 DDR2PC2 - 5300, but the notch in the MM doesn't match the slot on the motherboard. What did I miss?!?

    Re: Memory module question

No - it's not a plus. And the MM specs I listed are cut and pasted directly from the Shuttle Specs page. The specs on the MM I bought are directly from the front of the plastic shipping case.

If you bought ram that matches the spec it should fit.

May seem like the obvious, but have you tried the ram the other way round?

    Re: Memory module question

Yes, I have tried reversing the memory module; that was the first thing I tried. And I even understand the need to ask the question; I've made a bone-headed mistake a time or two but not trying to reverse the memory stick was not one of them this time.
