Re: Max Hard drive capacity for sata controllers

If it is a boot drive then I believe the limit is 2.2TB or there abouts if its a data drive then the limitations are much more relaxed. Its more an issue of what filesystem you use than drive size

Are these separate cards, or on-board?

I know that older on-board controllers had drive size limits that could be overcome with BIOS updates, but these was an old socket A machine.

Re: Max Hard drive capacity for sata controllers

Hi, The Promise FastTrack S150 TX2plus and the Promise SATA 150 TX2 PLUS are pci cards. I have an Adaptec 1210sa pci card and adaptec say on there site max is 1tb hd. So I want to find out what my other cards/onboard can support before I start buying hard drives.

    Thankyou
