    Exclamation Ethernet adapter not working?

    Hi guys,
I have a problem with my internet network not being recognised on start up. I am hard-wired to the router via and Ethernet cable. My motherboard is EVGA p55V, to remedy the problem I go into device manage and disable the Ethernet adapter and re-enable, this seems to fix the problem until next start up. I'm sure U have the correct drivers 64 bit to match my OS.
Any ideas as to what the problem is and a more efficient solution?
    Thanks

uninstall form device manager and tick the box to delete the drivers if its there, then let windowz search for a driver and see if that does the job.

It can never find its own drivers as without the drivers in the first place it can connect to the internet to find them.

Second that. I had a problem when I used my old desktop motherboard for my FreeNAS machine recently. FreeNas just wouldn't detect the on-board NIC, neither would a Ubuntu boot disc. Got a cheap NIC and placed that in a PCI slot with the same problem.

I noticed whilst the board was booting that the resources were listed and some where showing as N/A. Cleared the CMOS and sure enough the N/A resources were listed as ethernet devices and everything works as normal, and I have a £1.90 spare NIC.

    Re: Ethernet adapter not working?

I am running windows 7 ultimate 64 bit, my motherboard is EVGA P55V, I tried restoring to factory settings in my bios this didn't solve the issue, from what I can see there is not CMOS reset button or any jumper, is there any other way to reset the CMOS?

    Re: Ethernet adapter not working?

    re move the battery

should be a silver disc about the size of a 2p coin

wait 2 min after the battery is out, then pop it in again, when its rebooted it should say some thing like mother board reset, press f1 to enter bios
