Weird screen lag on Vista 64bit...

Hi,

Basically I just formatted my PC and am using Vista 64bit... I won't list my spec. as I'm not entirely sure its necessary as pre-format, I didn't have this problem. Anyway, say I've got a google chrome window open. Then next to that I've got an MSN window open I'm chatting to someone in. If I drag the MSN window across the google chrome window, or any other medium sized window, like control panel or something, I get a massive drag (like a mouse pointer trail) of the window I'm dragging which covers the area of the larger chrome window I've dragged across. Sometimes, a print of parts of the screen I have dragged will also remain. The problem doesn't occur if I drag a smaller window somewhere, like if I've reduced the size of an MSN chat window, and I think its noteworthy that this problem also doesn't occur if I'm just dragging across an empty desktop, only large net browser type windows. I'm baffled cus like I said, I didn't have this issue pre format, and I also just installed the latest drivers for my ATI card and fully updated my entire PC.

It might not sound like a massive problem but its full on winding me up, so any help is gonna be greatly appreciated!!

I was over my mate the other day and noticed what you describe. can't explain it. I turned off very thing i could find in windows, trying to look for a back ground up. but i gave up in the end.



best thing i can think of is an upgrade to win 7
