    Hauppage HD PVR query

Was thinking of getting one of these to capture HD PS3 and Xbox 360 footage. Anyone used it for video editing?

Question is - and I've looked elsewhere and can't find a definite answer.

Is my PC good enough to capture video with this particular product?

    AMD Athlon 64 x 2 Dual
    Core Processor 5200+
    2.71 Ghz
    3GB RAM
    NVIDIA GeFORCE 9800 GT

I take it the PVR plugs into the PC via USB then you use PS3 component cables into the device, but can still have your HDMI connecting going into the HD TV?

Would also be interested to hear about decent, fairly cheap software for video editing. Nothing major, fairly basic stuff. It comes with Arcsoft "TotalMediaExtreme", not sure what that's like. Have also been lookng at some Pinnale and Corel products, but don't want to pay over-the-top. Just want to be able to edit video and overlay audio/text.

Also, I hear that you can only use 5metre USB extender. My PC sits about 7 metres from the HD TV. Wondered if there's a way around that.

    Move the PC?

My only concern is should I hide my true identity? A costume maybe?

0iD: Plus weeing in it every now & again does it good
scaryjim: 10" is just a little large to hold comfortably in one hand, which makes it a lot harder to tap, swipe and generally interact with.

My wife almost had a heart attack when I mentioned that. I'd basically be in the living room. Could do with a second HD TV really.
