    microphone

    hi guys, ive had a set of speedlink medusa hd headphones with built in mic, ive also got a creative xfi sound card. all have worked for years mint. then i logged in to ventrilo and my mic wouldnt work, so i did tests using several apps and it still wasnt working. i now get a message saying "found new hardware wizard, audio device on high def audio bus. it has the option for windows to istall software for device, i click that and it cant find anything. ive checked all connections, settings. i think it may be the driver but i dont know how to fix it :0 can anyone help???????

    Find+download the correct driver package from the Creative website, Windows sometimes gets the wrong ones automatically. Then go to device manager and remove the drivers currently installed for it then run the Creative installer.

    I run a MAudio Delta 44 soundcard. Same thing happened. And did very occasionally. With this current board I have found it prevents other conflicts as well by disabling the HD audio device in device manager.

    cheers guys, i tried everythin, must of been the actual mic had broke. ive bought a new pair of the same headphones and they worked instantly
