    Webcam ?

    Hi All,

Want to start up video calls with the family in Aus. What's the recommended webcam ?
Or, does anyone want to sell one ?

    Thanks

    Re: Webcam ?

Had similar quandary myself the other week. Ended up getting my parent a £16 Microsoft LifeCam VX-2000. Quality is pretty good, mic works fine.

I purchased a cheaper logitech for C130 from staples for £7. Agaian pretty good bang for the £££, but if I was a bigger Skype user I would have got the MS one.

    Re: Webcam ?

They all seem to be very similar at 640x480. What made you choose the MS one ?

    Re: Webcam ?

I picked the MS one up first (for parents), then got the logitech on a bit of a whim (for myself). The MS one has better less intrusive software, seems to cope better with lighting variations, has a mic (I didnt need one), slightly edges it on image quality. If your after a cheap option, have a mic, and a handy staples then the cheap one is fine.
