I have done a investigation and found this :
DOS Chkdsk > 24KB Bad sectors reported > Full Chkdsk > 0 KB bad sectors exist and SSD is OK/no more BSOD's
OR
DOS Chkdsk > 24KB Bad sectors reported > Full Chkdsk > 2048 KB bad sectors exist and SSD continues to cause BSODs
Now we are having a large number of the latter taking place and we are thinking of RMAing them. But, this just doesn't feel right. Am I missing something here?
Btw, we use WINXP SP3 and Intel SSD Optimizer is never run either. I have also come across this command while Googling fsutil behavior set DisableDeleteNotify 0 . Does this need to be set as well ?
Thanks
The command you refer to would allow the TRIM passthrough command. I say would, because only Windows 7 supports TRIM, XP doesn't support it and the command will never be passed.

Prior to the upgrade, you could a few things that Windows 7 does when it detects an SSD (disabling prefetch, etc.).
A read of this may prove useful for some ideas of some tweaks to try.

Obviously, Win7 is the way to go, but in the interim, there are things you can do to improve the experience.

Any advice on the bad sector issue ?
