    Laptop- strange problem!

Long story short, if i open the lid more than 45 degres it will shut off, it thinks im closing the lid! all i did was lift the laptop of the bed onto the table...and now it does this? THE DAY BEFORE IM GOING TO SELL IT! i need to fix it asap but im unsure if this is going to be a quick job or if it is in fact a major problem...should i pull it apart? what could be causing such a rare odd issue? thanks!

to update a little, if i take the screen from the base...it works fine! screw it back on and the problem is back??? plus if i tilt the scren open only 45degres then tilt the laptop back it plays up then aswell....i mean what the hell!

too add to this....it has something to do with the control panel...when i remove this i can control when the laptop gos into standby by tilting it and moving it about.....would a replacement possibly solve this? has anyone else came across an issue like this?

its the screen closed switch or magnet. either way start by taking the screen surround off, then the laptop upper case to track it down.

Thanks, been trying to find it, has something to do with the power button! yet i cannot see anything like a magnet or switch other than the power switch on the pcb board, as soon as i pull it from the machine everything works fine again so it is definatly the power switch board...but this is such an odd one? i can not understand why it would cause such a problem if i cant find what the main real cause is...the pcb seems fine?
