Corsair tends to be a safe choice. A lot of the DIMMs now seem to be 1.5V although AFAIK these should be fine.

This kit should do the job:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/8gb-(...-9-9-9-27-165v

    These two sets are cheaper:

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/264750

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/254550

These sets are a tad more expensive:

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/262580

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/195372

AFAIK,the AM3 systems tend to be less picky about RAM and unless a RAM set is known to cause problems it will probably be fine.

I would make sure that you go for the latest version of the Gigabyte motherboard which is AM3+ and has a black socket.

The Kingston sets would be a good alternative IMHO.

If you have Windows XP,Vista or 7 64 bit you will be able to use more than 4GB of system RAM.

Have you got an RMA replacement??

This Asus motherboard is quite decent IMHO:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/asus-...-sata-raid-atx

However, for a few quid more I would get one of the following 890GX motherboards:

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/197546

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/197748

I consider the Asus 890GX motherboard a bit better than the Gigabyte one although the latter also has USB3.0 ports too.

OTH,the AM3+ motherboards are being released in the next few months and these will work with Bulldozer.
