    Exclamation Drive problems, amongst others

Hi, put together a new PC today and am having some problems... I've got a semi-powerful setup. Intel h67 mobo, 2400 i5, 2x2gbdd3, gtx 570, 2x1tb sata + 1x500gb sata and a 550w corsair psu.
But now it's all up and running it feels a bit clunky, not running as smooth as i'd hoped. The problem lies with the 1tb drives i think. I have windows installed on my old 500gb which runs fine, the 1tb's are for storage and in the process of transferring films and other media they keep crashing and doing weird things. One hdd 'vanished', only to reappear after reboot. And as i write this i've just got a message reading 'Windows detected a hard disk problem, back up your files immediately to prevent info loss, then contact manufacturer to determine if you need to repair or replace disk.'!! have i made a crucial error whilst installing these things? The 1tb drives and sata slots 1 and 2, is that ok? im going to try moving them around now. Also games were running slower than i expected. Please help before i damage the machine permanently! Thanks.

    I'm guessing these 1TB drives are Samsung F3's ?

Could be a number of things. Check the SATA cables are properly inserted, also try other cables if possible. Try updating chipset drivers. Also use something like HD Tune to check the drives' SMART data.

    Re: Drive problems, amongst others

Still having problems with hard drives, also had an incident with a usb flash drive and a usb sd card reader that caused the system to crash. Have reinstalled time and time again due to crashes. Have tried reinstalling the most up to date drivers and things in different orders. But still the system does not run smoothly. Ran HD tune and all is healthy. Actually completely lost 1 of the seagate barracuda 1tb's on the last crash, wasn't even recognised in bios after restart! so i unplugged it and just have the 500gb and 1tb operating now, don't have the energy to fiddle around and try and diagnose it yet.
So all is not well for my new rig actually contemplating calling out a technician...dire straits.
I think it is the motherboard and it's drivers for some reason I can't explain, though everything is up to date. Any ideas?

If you hadn't said you had a Corsair I'd be asking what PSU you had. Even so, you can get faulty units from any company - do you have another one to try with?
