    Re: Cause of games stuttering?

I did a clean install of the drivers and the problems seems to have gone away. Normal FPS drops rather than a near halt now. I suppose that problems may have arisen that I did not clean the drivers from my old nvidia card and some setting left over was causing some issue
Cheers for the HD tune tip, behaves normally but good to know if something comes up!

Re sli, you probably want it off for this game so that you can run physx on a dedicated card.

and regarding dead space he still runs so slowly! still i should probably give it another try before i dismiss it . I've been amassing cheap steam games of late (which Dead space is one of) so might take a while to get there again!

Oh yeah of course it does! What an idiot. I even used to use CMSS3d to get pretend surround sound from my headphones, and headphones are just 2.0 speakers stuck to your head.....

I'll go back to my hole.

    Re: Cause of games stuttering?

yah if you turn it on with headphones or 2.0 speakers it does the same job but the algorithms are a bit different. I really wish creative explained the feature properly!

For music on headphones I've turned it on and pushed the slider towards "front" which gives the music a bit of depth which you lose when having headphones up against your ears. Dolby headphone is supposedly much better for this though! Makes no sense to turn it on for stereo recorded music though when using stereo speakers though.

    Re: Cause of games stuttering?

this used to happen me, it was a problem with windows 7's builtin cpu maximum setting being at 100%. apparently i could only run games at 80 or it would hit 100 degrees and start stuttering. so annoying
