I'm not entirely sure of the sequence of events but somehow my nvidia drivers are completely screwed up and I blame ubuntu!
I boot up and realise everything is a little blurry and go in ubuntu (recently updated to 11.04) and it all goes a bit wrong bunch of nvidia messages and so I try from memory to install the nvidia driver... No luck.
Try windows, loads fine but the resolution is screwed up I can't change it to anything sensible. A clean install of drivers makes no difference. Aero is fine and I can even run furmark normally it's just the resolution is mad.
What seems to have happened is the current kernel has no nvidia driver or something and because of ubuntu's necessity to put itself at the front or something it's messed up the whole machine! I seem to be sort of able to get in to previous ubuntu kernels but no luck sorting out this driver issue.
Downloading 10.04 to do a fresh install but not even sure I'll be able to get in to the installer as I couldn't get in to 11.04 installer.
So wondering if anyone has seen anything like this before? I don't understand how linux drivers can affect windows really.
