Slow Response from Keyboard and mouse on Booting

I have recentley had to do a complete fresh reinstall of Win 7 64
Since this all is well apart from when I boot (from an X25 80GB Intell SSD) Once my logon screen appears I have to wait about 10 - 15 seconds for my mouse and KB to come to life ........

Now the keyboard and mouse aer both USB - Mouse is a logitech G9 and KB a Filco mechanical, however BB works fine through boot and in Bios, so I guess there is no problem with the USB ports, I can only think that it is a driver issue with windows, but I'm not that technical and am stuck
I have installed the lastesty intel chipset drivers for my mobo and windows upadated everything - can anyone shed any light ??

    Thanks in advance

Anything reported in the logs? Not sure if Bootvis would help in this situation but I agree that it looks like a driver issue

Is it quicker in safe mode? Do you have another mouse / kb to try?

When in windows (not safe mode) I would try going into device manager, right click on mouse and uninstall. Then make sure you have internet connection and scan for hardware changes or unplug mouse and plug back in again to reinstall driver. Do the same with keyboard.

You might also try disabling legacy mouse support ON of oFF in BIOS depending on its current setting.

Thanks guys i'll try it in safe and see.

I never did understand what legacy support for mouse and kb meant in bios? Also in the USB menu which offers me various controllers enaled or disabled do I still neeed to have usb 1.0 enabled?

Re: Slow Response from Keyboard and mouse on Booting

Sometimes the USB device won't work pre-Windows boot-up - for example when you boot a CD and it asks to press a key. You sometimes have to enable legacy support to get the keyboard recognised.
