    Dead Shuttle?

I recently bought a Shuttle RefleXion 20th Anneversary Edition from Microdirect.co.uk . I also bought a P4 3.0 Ghz, 1 Gig of Corsair 3200 and a Seagate 120Gb SATA drive. Now I built the whole system, everything seemed fine but when I powered it on, the fan spins up (full speed like my other shuttle) but then it continues to spin full speed and nothing happens. The activity LED on the front flashes at first but then nothing happens and it just sits there. It doesn't even reach POST so i'm getting really annoyed.
    Is the motherboard dead?
I've tried running with a different graphics card and monitor but nothing helped. I tried different RAM and still nothing happened, I tried the system withough HDD but still nothing happened. The only thing left to test is my P4, but I don't have another so I can't swap it out.
    Hope you guys can help
    Cheers

Have you tried resetting the CMOS via the jumpers and soft-resetting it with the INS key?

Soft reset is usually holding the insert key as you boot the machine.

Also try taking everything out except the mobo and CPU - it should give you lots of beeps - that'll mean the mobo is at least getting as far as the first part of POST.

When resettings the CMOS, make sure the power to the PSU is off at the wall - and press the power button on the front a few times to ensure the PC is discharged, or the CMOS might retain charge - I have a little guide on that coming soon.

    $s = new signature();

I've tried it with just the CPU, mobo and RAM but nothing else connected (appart from power and that) Still nothing.
I'll try and do a soft reset of the CMOS in a moment.
If that doesn't work is there anything else that I could try appart from sending it back?
I checked compatability before I bought it and the P4 is supported so I don't think thats the problem

Take the memory out - does it beep to complain about lack of memory?

No memory in there and it does the same thing. Just sits there and does nothing.
    Soft resetting didin't work neither.
    Think it's a dead board?

Or a dead CPU - take the CPU out and see if it complains then, lol. Some mobo's go ape, others don't do anything (if yours does the latter, it's either broken, or isn't designed to go ape.)

Just took the CPU out, still nothing, just sat there humming away.
Sounds like a dead mobo to me but i'm no expert, what you think?

    Sounds like it to me.

Let's just check the silly stuff though - all power cables are in properly? Perhaps the CMOS jumper is set to clear right now, and when you reset it you're moving it to normal and back? Double check in the manual... some mobo's come set to clear by default.

    Power cables, check, all in
CMOS jumper, must be in right postition because in the other position it wont boot at all.
Manual only tells me where my pins are, not the config of them.
I think i'll package it up again and demand a new 1 from Microdirect.
    Any final ideas?
