    Problems browsing Hexus

Hexus is an incredible fount of knowledge but recently my access has become painful. Each and every thread I open causes Internet Explorer to generate the following message - Stop running this script - A script on this page is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Obviously I cannot expect Heux to change for me so what can I change at my end to end my agony? Note, changing from Internet Explorer is not an option.

    Many thanks in advance.

I would assume IE is your problem, I browse using Chrome and Firefox and my Android Phone and its always been fine

I would guess its because IE is the worst browser in the world thats the issue.

Since you cant change, try run the page in compatibility and see if it changes? Or try updating Flash and Java

It has been really slow for me today. Could be one of the servers playing up again?

    Re: Problems browsing Hexus

I have IE8 on my work machine, and Hexus crashes frequently with this error on certain pages. I think it is something to do with the Facebook integration on sharing stories, as when it loads that part it all goes wrong - but that may just be my particular browser version.

I can browse at home fine on Chrome/Safari etc.

PM Steve with a screenshot and as much info as you can and I'm sure he'll look into it.

Update to IE9 if you can though, IE8 is almost 3 years old!
If it's a work machine, you could try a portable install of your favourite browser?

Personally, I can't update IE8 (group policy restriction). However this is only a rare occurance for me so not really an issue. I don't think the OP has specified what version of IE they are using yet.

    Re: Problems browsing Hexus

I'm voting with the other guys- try a different browser (Chrome) or at least an upgraded IE- hexus probably isn't designed for older browsers

Exactly which version of IE are you using? IE6/7 might give you trouble. But anything IE8 onwards should be fine IMO.

    Re: Problems browsing Hexus

Thanks Jonatron (and everyone else for their replies), all is now well and I can now browse easily. In answer to the enquiries - IE7 and IE8 depending on the PC.
