Ah yes, a good suggestion. I have know people put motherboard standoffs in the wrong places in a case, and end up shorting bits of the mobo, causing problems obviously.Originally Posted by Clstrphbc_donut
Hoorah!!
We have some beeps, too many standoffs i feel like an idiot lol
Ill give it a go with everything else now
Now i have 1 long beep and two short beeps, would this occur because of a video card error?
Yup ive checked to make sure its seated and locked in correctly, another thing is my 2 front fans have stopped working now
The fans are connected to molex's not the motherboard directly, ill try and change a few around see what happens, damn im gettin tired now
The fans wont be affected by the motherboard if they arent connected to it. Must be a dodgy connection somewhere...
Ive had a fiddle around with cables, and i have the graphics cable connected straight onto a cable from the PSU.
Still the same beep codes though
sorry forgot to say, the monitor wont turn on at all, it just stays on standby, but the graphics card fan spins ok
right to verify you have tried it outside of the case seated on a non conductive thing such as a mobo box with only the cpu + heatsink 1 stick of memory plugged in and the video card -?
second are you connecting the 4 pin atx cable to the mobo?
third you are not connecting the fan only molex connectors up are you? (notr sure if the true 550 has these still or not)
have you reset the cmos?
also as i dont know how computer knowledgable you are, are you securing the heatsink inplace and are the video card and memory securly slotted in place?
Feel better now ive had some sleep
I havent actually tried it out of the case yet, will do that.
The 4 pin atx is connected
Yup there are 2 fan only molex's, but ive made sure there not being used atm
As for resetting the cmos, should i swap it to the 2-3 postition and leave it, or swap it back again like u normally would?
As for my knowledge id say pretty basic This is only my second time doing this, first time seemed really easy, just plonked it in and turned it on.
Gotta go to work for a few hours, gonna have another bash when i get back
to clear cmos yep stick the jumper on the clr pins for 10 secs or so and then put it back to the normal position, but unplug the psu from the mains first
I tried it outside the case with nothing else on it, i still get 1 long beep then 2 short.
Ive put the CPU and radeon into this PC, and they both work fine, so im thinking its gotta be a problem with the Motherboard.
What do u guys think?
