    enabling hyper-threading?

    Do I have to enable hyper-threading before I install XP or can I enable it after?

    If I have to enable before installing is it really worth it?

    You enable it on the motherboard BIOS.

    Xp should automatically detect and install the correct ACPI driver.

    No one seemed to want to respond in the last 1 min, so I will

    HT has nothing to do with instaling Windows.. Just enable in bios when ever you want to..

    I seem to remember you needing to reinstall windows if you've never had it on before, as it will need to use the multiprocessor kernel instead of the single processor kernel.

    I read that an awful long time ago though, so things may be different now.

    It'll soon be clear as to whether you need to or not I'm sure.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    From what ive heard its best to enable HT in the bios before installing windows, when I ran a PIV I had HT on all of the time so it didnt really make a difference to me
