Dell Optiplex 790 compatible mid range GPU? specifically HD 6850?

My dad bought me this new Desktop PC, I was expecting a gaming PC but my dad isn't that techy enough so he actually bought me this, a non-gaming PC build. So here's the specs:
    i3 2100 (3.10 ghz), 4 gb ram (1333mhz),LGA 1155 Q65 chipset mobo w/ 2 dual x16 PCI E slot. with a mini/mid tower. Not really sure about that one.
Obviously I want to upgrade this by replacing the PSU and putting a Video Card for gaming purposes. Im looking forward to a Sapphire HD 6850 but Im not sure if it will fit in my rig. 1st factor is the length, according to the specs, a Sapphire HD 6850's dimension is 9.37" x 3.86" x 1.46". I measured the space inside my case and the available space from edge to edge(length) is about 10. so so inches. So I guess the length of the card will fit but i noticed that the card might bump in the SATA ports in the right most part of the mobo and are about 1/2 inch away from the PCIE slot lane.

Any thoughts about this? I don't want to buy the card if it wouldn't fit. Someone might have this same situation?

Is it a small form factor case?

No worries, i know what you mean. How many watts is the PSU?

If you want to replace it you will need a new case too, its a non standard PSU

Sorry, i edited the above post lol. If its like 300+ i would get a 6770 and put it in there

Dell PSU's are usually pretty good quality actually so that should be fine with a low power card like the 6770, and it should still play games decently

Oh I see, the PSU wattage rate is only 295 watts wit 90% efficiency if im not mistaken. My second choice was HD 6790 and a power color edition of it was just 8.5 inches in length. But as you said the PSU is a non-standard one so a new case will be needed. I'm on a budget actually and i just want to throw 70% of my budget for the Video card. So frustrating

Get a 6770 if i were you, it will still play pretty much everything tbh.

You could risk it with a 6790,

I wouldn't though, but im sure it would work fine actually.

You have a point there sir. But will my PSU can take it? according to the manufacturer's site, a 6770 needs a 450 watts of PSU.

    Ignore that.

a 6770 would be fine, honestly. Because they are quality PSU's they can take more than say a 500w Generic PSU or maybe even a 600.

One more problem, it needs a one 6-Pin PCI Express Power connector. I think my PSU don't have one.

Please shed some light about these stuffs. sorry!

You can get Molex to PCI-E 6 pin connectors, the cards usually come with one anyway

I see, i thought a 6-Pin PCI Express Power connector is PSU based, I mean it comes from the PSU. So it's just a connector from board to the Video card?

No, it's from the PSU to the graphics card.

But you can convert two four-pin Molex plugs into one 6-pin PCIe plug. As long as you've got two spare molex plugs coming off the PSU, and the right adapter, it should work.

My PSU don't have any spare Molex connectors. Bad luck for me then
