    Rechargeable battery question...

    Hey,

I just got a Duracell 30 minute rapid charger, which comes with 4 x Duracell 2100mAh batteries. But I was wondering if I can use my Uniross 1700mAh batteries in the rapid charger? On the Uniross batteries it says standard charge 7 hours at 320mAh, so I'm not sure if it would be safe. However, on the Duracell batteries included with they charger it quotes 16 hours at 210mAh!

I'm guessing it would be ok, just don't wanna blow anything up and/or burn my flat down

    Cheers,

    Suman

Rpid chargers usually incorporate some form of temperature and/or voltage monitoring to get power into the battery as quickly as possible without causing too much heat build up which can burst the battery. Rapid charge batteries are designed to allow for the heat build up. The charge rates on the battrery are the maximum rates without temperature monitoring etc....

You PROBABLY will be OK, biut then I am quite a long way from you, so if it does go wrong, I will be well out ofthe fallout zone!

You could try the uniross site to see if the batteries are suitable for rapid charging.

Im pretty sure it would be OK, i've charged standard Uniross Rechargables in my cousins rapid charger with no ill effects.

Best to check the Uniross site though I would say.

You should be fine. If not then the worst you'll do i knacker the batteries or charger (more likely the batteries) but you're not going to blow anything up or set things on fire*

*if you do then don't blame me, i'm just a figment of your imagination and this post doesn't exist
