    PC randomly freeze

    Hye.
I have a problem with my windows.
It randomly freeze, usually right after startup. It has no blue screen whatsoever. I usually need to do hard reset 2-3 times before my sytem stabilise.
I thought it's because of my hard disk, so I bought an SSD yesterday and have installed windows in it.
I thought it solve the problem until tonight my pc hangs again twice.
I still use the old hard disk as storage. It should not cause the windows to freeze, should it?

    I'm running windows 7 64 bit.
I have updated the bios today. problem still occur.
One thing i notice is my CPU temp is ~60 degree at idle which is too hot. is this the cause of the problem? but the temperature has been that for like 6 months, where the freezing only starting to occur at recent weeks.

Can you guys help me solve this problem. thanks

    Re: PC randomly freeze

CPU is WAY too hot for idle.

Check heatsink is on correctly and fan is working. Should be in the 30s idle.

    Re: PC randomly freeze

You've slow cooked your CPU. Just because it worked for months at that temperature, it doesn't mean you can carry on doing that without problems.

I shudder to think how hot it got under load if it's idling at 60.

You've probably killed the CPU, which is bad. On the good side, it's a rubbish CPU anyway, treat yourself to a new, better one.
