Do you have any supporting info in Event Viewer such as application errors?.....normally a good place to start as it will give the windows id ref for the event and the nature of the event.

any help guys??? still happening
i tried my friends gpu and my PC didn't black screen, so i think its the gpu and scan have mucked up. I sent them an email now there just ignoring it. wish i would have bought all my bits from overclockers![]()
i have tried my friends gpu and my PC has been fine no stupid crash. I have emailed scan yesterday and they still haven't got back to me i really do think they mucked up as they sent a new psu and the same problem happens, i don't think they want to refund a card worth so muchwhat shall i do next?
This is why you have been told to download GPUz and run it as if the fans on the GPU are not cooling it as they should be ie as soon as you start a game then this will help you.
Your best bet is to try and get your card tested in your mates pc even it means putting your psu in as well then it will be narrowed down to one or both of them.
i have cpuz and gpuz installed the temps are fine i even got a black screen trying to install stem earllier
Tried changing the monitor cable?
Jon
i have tried that i have 3 vga cables and it happens when connected with hd cable so not a cable problem. any more ideas anyone?
hello i did ring scan today and they where as much use as a chocolate tea pot, I told them what had happened he said update to newest drivers i said i have a thousand times tried and he sent me a link and said see if it works and it didn't. So I email back and have not got a reply, I have already rma it once and they mucked up and said it was fine i just want a replacement and not have to wait 2 weeks again for them to say its fine.
Hang on - you've already RMA'd the GPU and the PSU ?
So they've replaced the PSU but not the GPU ?
In the meantime your machine works fine with the new PSU and another GPU. What happens if you put your GPU into a known working system ? If it fails, then that would be fairly definitive that the GPU is still kaput.
If so, get back on the phone and tell them, and ask for another RMA on that basis. You might also want to raise a thread in the Scan after sales service area.
Society's to blame,
Or possibly Atari.
yh they replaced the psu and not the gpu and yet i still get that problem i think the psu was fine and they didn't want to check the gpu. i cant check my gpu in my friends pc he dont want to take it apart. i think it must be a gpu problem. as its not ram, psu , and i dont think a cpu would cause the problem iv been having
also il start a thread in there if they don't help again today.
thanks very much people for your help![]()
See if you have a "PCI-Express Clock Drive Strength" setting in your BIOS.
If so, make sure its around 800/900. I've seen a couple of systems that have this setting and it can default to ~700 and some cards fail.
