    windows 7, blacks around game when not playing in native res

    I have this problem, when i play a game in lower than native res there is a black border around my game. i know this was ought to be fixed in ccc but the scale up option is greyed out? can anyone help? i have a hd 5850m gpu

    Try setting your desktop res to whatever the problematic game res is, then use the CCC overscan settings to eliminate the black bars.

    Switch back to your desktop res then hopefully when you launch the game it will remember the overscan settings you just applied for the game res.

    What graphics card is it, chances are theres soem sort of gpu scaling setting that you can switch on so the GPU stretches the game to the desktop res.

    What Trig said ... check in Catalyst if there is a Scale using GPU option. NVIDIA ctrl panel had an option where you let the monitor do the scaling or the gfx card.

    Yeah, that's baically what I was saying. I need to do it on my HTPC for each different refresh rate I use (i.e. 1080p/24, 1080p/50 & 1080p/60) when I do a fresh install so imagine it's the same thing here as I use ATI also.
