My HDD is disconnecting from windows 7 in the middle of a session for no reason. i click on "My computer" and drive D has dissapeared, in fact i was resizing some photos on it, and it disconnected in the middle of the job, so 300 photos were marked "OK" and 300 photos were marked "file missing" onkly way to get it back is reboot. it's happened 2 - 3 times so the wires are fixed ok.
it's only a 320gb HDD. is the HDD control board faulty?
A few things can cause this, the power cable may not be in correctly as with the sata cable, or you out of luck and the HDD is dying so check your cables before you do anything drastic!
