New overclocked bundle won't POST

Hi,

I ordered a

Asus Maximus V GENE Z77 MoBo, intel 2700k, 8GB Vengeance 1600mhz, corsair h60 cpu cooler overclocked @ 4.7ghz.

After setting everything up from reading the manual the system would not post.

The error codes i Keep getting are

D7 When only the on board GFX card is used and power supply is plugged in
AE/A2 When SSD/HDD/DVD is plugged in. Tried different sata slots cables only using SSD etc....

I tried using the SSD with my old windows installed and also formatted it and tried a clean install.

Also set it to AHCI the n back to IDE.

Nothing has worked.

I have been sent an RMA code but would prefer to see if it is a simple problem first not being charged for it! or is my setup broke??

Any help would be AMAZING!

Does the manual say what those codes are?

D7 = No Console Input Devices are found

I think this is referring to a VGA card (as D6 is output device and pertains to monitors)......which to me sounds like the on-board GPU is not functioning properly.

AE is "Legacy Boot event" and A2 is "IDE Detect" - So failing at setting up the drives.

Sounds like a dodgy mobo to me.

The pc won't POST, up I can't change anything.....

If you can get into the BIOS to change ACHI to IDE then it's POSTing... And if you can get into the BIOS then you can change the overclocking settings, surely? If you can't then take the battery out on the motherboard for half an hour or set the mobo jumpers to clear the BIOS to default, then try again.

I changed to ACHI/IDE on my current system. Took the battery out for an hour. No jumpers on board.

I didn't overclock it. It was done by scan for me as a bundle.

SOLVED!!!!!!

I got excited about the new system and decided to flash my HD 6950 TO 6970 Last week.

Flashed original BIOS back into 6950 and it worked!!!!!!

Don't know why the on board graphics didn't work though....
