This problem is related to a couple of others I was having, one to do with ACPI detection and the other with a strange USB net problem

The net problem unresolved, I tested the ACPI by trying to put my comp into standby mode. When I did this, I heard a hard disk shutdown, then the entire system turned off (not so strange as I'm using POS and STR). I turned my system back on expecting to see the Windows XP desktop but got the 'welcome' screen but totally blank, I couldnt do anything so I hit restart. Windows started up and said the 'your system has recovered from a serious error' message, so I tried the standby again and the same thing happend. I hit restart, but when my computer came to welcome screen, I was suddenly hit with the
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL message, I had to restart, next time I got a
YOUR SYSTEM HAS ENCOUNTERED A SERIOUS ERROR AND HAS BEEN HALTED message.
the next time I got a DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL referring to a file 'ACPI.sys'
the nest i received an halt error referring too 'NTFS.sys'
I removed all non essential peripherals and got another halt message.
I then removed my second hard disk drive, and windows booted normally, I tested my modem, but internet explorer crashed, I opened IE again, and shortly after I got another BSOD.
I am now on another machine writing this.
My question is, what part of my computer is faulty?!
Motherboard? Hard Disk? It's not XP cos I have formatted twice.
Please help!
