I have never had experience with thermal paste ever! What do you mean by that anyways? Oh and I love you guys so much. You guys help me out and have never critisised me for not knowing simple things. In America your prone to get picked on for that.
Thanks!

Where are your fans? The fans at the rear of your case should be blowing out. Leave your side panel off for starters ( ive been running my case with no side panels for about a year now). Open all the windows in your room and try to get a draft to go through your room.Have you got a desk fan to hand?
:edit: You attach heatsinks to chips that are running hot so they can dissipate the heat better. When you do this you need to put a very thin layer of thermal paste (which conducts the heat better than air) inbetween the chip and the heatsink as neither can possible be exactly flat. This is so that it can conduct heat better. This is the usual method of cooling something down.

but besides that is there anything I can do to fix it? So I can just put the side pannel on and what not? Oh and thermal paste... What do you mean by that?
-
Besides leaving your side panel off and pointing a fan at it, there is not alot that you can do except to attach a heatsink. Check the post above about thermal paste and heatsinks.

hey my fan is pointed right at my case but one weird thing is happening. RIGHT as soon as I turn the fan on the screen starts to shake. I turned it off to see if its air from the fan blowing on the videocard but as soon as I turn it off it turns the shaking off. The fan is about 10"-12" in diameter

Yea thats caused by the fan motor, its normal. Try turning your case so that you can have your fan pointing at it but be further away and not pointing in the direction of the monitor.

Where can I find a heat sink for the chips and maybe a turtorial or a "how to" book for this step by step please? lol... Thanks!

Computer is running wayyy longer now! In games its actually staying on! Anyone know any help to my last question?
-
Can you let me know if you have 2 holes around the northbridge? Should be at opposite corners of it?
-
can anyone point me in the direction of a southbridge cooler/heatsink as mine runs very hot as well...
-
You can get zalman passive heatsinks for about 6-10 odd quid now. You had experience using thermal epoxy before?
-
Nope but im sure ill be fine...
any tips?
-
If you want to remove the heatsink EVER mix it 2/3 artic silver thermal epoxy, 1/3 normal artic silver. :)
-
ok! i suppose if i ever did want to remove it id have to heat it up and remove it while it was hot.
btw: sorry for the thread hijack :o
-
You can either heat it up or put it in the freezer :) . Ive never really done either, just used a credit card and a screwdriver to lever them off. Never had any problems really. Hopefully we have figured out what is wrong with catattack's pc. :) Took a while but we finally got there.

Yup. It's got to be the heat. Beep boom beep boom noises, the chips being so hot to the point where it burns my finger, shutting off during when the computer is doing a lot of things at once (like games) and also the 89º weather in my house with NO ac. 89º in my house, about 98º outside! Plus pointing my fan right at the southbridge... (I think?) made my computer actually stay on consistently longer!
Thanks guys!
P.s. what are you guys talkin about with freezer//warming it up//thermal epoxy?
