sisters kids pc is acting up, the simptoms are random freazing while playing games and while on skype, i have done a format becaues i thorhgt it was the ssd dieing
sytem specs are
ASRock 880GXH/USB3 AMD 880G (Socket AM3) Motherboard

some, why, what are you thinking is broke ? , i was thinking the mainboard becaues iv had one of these mainboard fail on me (would not power up or tempermatel on powering up)

no changes made hardware wise.

You say you have 4 sticks of memory, try running with 2 or run one at a time and see if it stills freezes, then if it freezes swap with another stick and run again. also you could run memtest.

can you please just tell us what OS you are using (64 or 32) as well as what the exact symptons are of hte freezing.

Is it happening once, how long for, does it happen constantly but (not very often).

Logic dictates that It is most likely to be sound/video related. What resolution is the monitor at, and what speakers are connected. also what format (eg 5.1 surrount, 2.1) and are they connected by USB or 3.5mm jack?

Is skype and gaming the only thing causing it to freeze? Also is there anything in windows error log?

windows 7 64, 12 gig ram (10 now due to memtest found a bad stick) when playing a game after about 30 the game lags up say about 5-10 fps, also sound drops from his skypoe call (he can here them but cant talk) and has to reset his pc even after he has stoped his game. montor is at 1980X1080 (samgund lcd tv connected by hdmi cable) sound is from a microsoft lx-3000 headset by usb, and i cant see anything in the error logs.

check windows event log for errors - it sounds like whatever is causing the problem isn't crashing the machine so something useful should get reported.

My next port of call would be to try gaming with the headset unplugged and see if he gets the same problem - that's the easiest thing to remove from the system and eliminate as a cause of the problem
