Crappy Onboard Modem
Hey all
I have a problem that you guys could help me with.
I have just reinstalled Windows XP on my parents PC and i came upon a stumbling block, Windows recognised that there was a modem installed onboard but could find the drivers anywhere, I have done all the usual checks like look on the windows CD, the motherboard CD.
I think the motherboard is made by Gigabyte
it is running a Athlon 2000+ if that helps
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks :angst:

The motherboard should have the model number silkscreened onto it along with the revision if its a Gigabyte board; that sort of info would help a bit. Also, is the modem actually integrated or is it on a riser card (like on a CNR/AMR slot, a kind of "mini-slot" by the PCI slots)?

Well, can you check the back of the machine - if it's on the same backplate as the keyboard, serial, printer ports etc, then it's integrated. If it's not, and shows up via one of the slots in the back, then it isn't. How are we doing on the model number, please?
