    no power

    almost finished building my first pc but there is no power when I switch it on. Have checked all cables etc but nothing is happening.what might the problem be.

    dumb question but are you sure the PSU is powerful enough to run the computer?

    is the plug socket turned on or faulty?

    fuse in plug gone?

    yes, the power supply is powerfull enough and cables double checked, power cable works on other pc so cannot be that.

    Next stupid question PSU turned on at the back (if it has switch) and the button on the case is wired correctly? Could be sommit stupid like the on/off button on the case is arsed, if you bridge the wires it might work. I had a problem wher on of my builds wouldnt power up, turned out the switch had moved in its mounting and didnt engage correctly.

    Check your bios jumper on the M/board, it's usually called JBAT1 if it is in the closed position then depending on the make of board the system wont boot

    thanks guys, power is on now, had to change the power switch, power led etc cables.
